Regarding his decision to support Stefanos Kasselakis in the second round of the internal party elections of SYRIZA and also about the “civil war” that has broken out in the party, he spoke to SKAI on Tuesday morning, Evangelos Antonaros.

“I watched all the candidates, I judged that what Mr. Kasselakis said resonated with my own positions. He convinced me that it looks like something new, even if it looks superficial” said Mr. Antonaros and commented on why he did not vote for Efi Ahtsioglou.

“What doesn’t attract me to Efi Ahtsioglou, whom I know, while I have never seen Mr. Kasselakis, is the constant reference to the Left that bothers me. I am a person of the center, I belong to the middle space. Her ideology is someone else’s,” he said.

Regarding whether Alexis Tsipras was involved in his decision to support Stefanos Kasselakis, he pointed out that it was purely his personal decision.

For the “civil war” in the party

Asked about the “civil war” that has broken out in the party after yesterday’s statements by Mrs. Ahtsioglou, Evangelos Antonaros commented “I found her to be a victim. It was a big statement, which was also apologetic. In terms of communication, it’s wrong.”

At the same time, Mr. Antonaros referred to some people who, as he said, “put obstacles” in the central choice of Alexis Tsipras, which was the opening to society.

“I want the one who will win, but also those who will lose, to find a common path of coexistence” added Mr. Antonaros and pointed out that all this must be forgotten from the next day.
