Efi Ahtsioglou appeared in a relaxed and unifying mood – New video and speeches by Stefanos Kasselakis
A few hours remained until the polls opened for the election of a new president in SYRIZA.
The intensity of the confrontation between the two candidates, the Stefanou Kasselakis and her Efis Ahtsioglouwas such that it raises doubts about whether the official opposition party will be able to continue its course united from Monday.
However, today Efi Ahtsioglou appeared to the cameras that were waiting for her outside her house in a relaxed and unifying mood, while she also referred to her duties as a mother of a small child.
“Today she has a day of rest, she has the walk with the child, the mother’s obligations, the normal ones, the nice ones” he declared. When asked about tomorrow’s elections, she said she was optimistic that the game could be turned around.
“It is important to be able to line up and be effective,” he said. He added that there had been tension in the previous period, but he estimated that “we can all move forward together from Monday.”
As far as I am concerned, he added, I have shown an experience and mood of unity and political content, but at the end of the day the citizens will decide.
He also said that the voters are not in a mood for polarization, he admitted that it is a difficult time for SYRIZA, “but we will find it from Monday” as he said.
“I will use all the executives of SYRIZA, I am a soldier for the principles and values of the faction” said Mrs. Ahtsioglou.
When asked if she is managing with the obligations of motherhood, she replied: “I didn’t do so well with the obligations, but I will balance it better from Monday.”
On his part, Mr Stefanos Kasselakis uploaded another video on social media, calling on all those who voted last Sunday “to be together because the new president needs everyone’s strength. Because he will be the president of all.”
The text:
“How it all started…
Alexis’s proposal for Statehood. Tours by his side.
The first handshakes, the first hugs.
We introduced ourselves.
Then I told you: “It’s not an opinion, it’s my life.”
We looked at each other.
We understood each other.
We built our platform.
With positions that not many say out loud.
You took them into your hands, you complete them, you improve them.
From there on I was taken by the whirlwind of the world. Visits to the place that hurts. In the ashes and in the floods. Attacks from the System.
But also the vision. The hope. The Greek Dream for all – not for the few.
Today I am not only talking to you who supported me. I’m talking to all of you, the 150,000, who queued at the polls, who resurrected SYRIZA – whatever you voted for in the first round.
I am asking you now to be together.
Because the new President of SYRIZA needs everyone’s strength.
Because the new President of SYRIZA will be President of all.
Not for post-politics, but for post-politics.
After the Right of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Then, for a State that will not leave the citizen alone.
Then, for a Greece that you will feel proud to live in.
Last Sunday you became the voice of this place.
This Sunday come let’s be the afterlife of this place.
It’s dawning!”
Today I am not only talking to you who supported me. I am talking to the 150,000 who resurrected SYRIZA.
I am asking you now to be together.
Because the new President needs everyone’s strength.
Because he will be President of all.

Speech to small and medium entrepreneurs
Later speaking from the platform of the pan-European conference for small and medium entrepreneurship, organized by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and GSEVEE, Stefanos Kasselakis said: “Every small business has the right to equal opportunities to become big. Unfortunately, oligopolies, banks, age-old ideologies and government audacity undermine your own “Greek dream”. To stop this, we need to make rules.”
And he added: “The political and economic establishment of the country will soon be forced to change and we will find space for you to make your own “Greek dream” come true. What should you do to the politicians if they act as proxies for the big ones who want you small?”.
