The recognition of “Northern Cyprus” is the best solution, insists the Turkish president
Ersin Tatar from the occupied territories, he wants to invite Azerbaijan to the meeting of the Organization of Turkic States, which will take place soon, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. Doing so would be tantamount to recognizing the pseudo-state.
As reported by Sky’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, in the coming period there is a meeting of the Organization of Turkic States and Erdogan said: “Azerbaijan also wants to invite to this meeting, the president of ᾽᾽TRBKá¾½ Ersin Tatar.” A meeting will be held in Kazakhstan on November 3rd, and we hope to see the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at this meeting, as an observer. Thanks to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, there is a serious determination in this regard. He also reveals that he wants the ᾽᾽TDBK” flag to fly there. I hope that we will continue to show our determination, hand in hand, in this step taken regarding the ᾽᾽TRDBKá¾½. The recognition of the TRNC is the best option for all countries that want to ensure permanent peace and tranquility on the island of Cyprus. The realities of the island are obvious and the ᾽᾽TDBK᾽᾽ is the most concrete reality of Cyprus. Those who have tried to ignore the Turkish presence there for years have tried nothing. But every step they took ended in disappointment because it was groundless. We tried all the ways to find a solution together with ᾽᾽TDBK”. We approached all formulas, including the Federation formula, honestly. However, from now on it has become clear that there is no other option but a two-state solution in Cyprus. No one should expect us to ignore the rights of the TRNC or allow them to be violated. We will raise our voices more so that ᾽᾽TDBK῎ is recognized by other countries. We have previously explained that it is wrong to leave this problem hanging and ignore it saying “non-solution is not a solution”. Now is the time to take the right step that will erase all mistakes. The recognition of the TRNC will compensate for the missteps taken by many parties, especially the European Union. The island of Cyprus deserves to be remembered with peace and tranquility, not with tensions.”
