The establishment of Operation “Peace” for “the observance of the UN arms embargo on Libya, was made by a decision of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council
The command of the force of operation “Peace” passes today Sunday from Italy to Greece and on the frigate “Aegeon”. This is what the Minister of National Defense says in his post on Platform X Nikos Dendias.
Specifically, “the frigate of our Navy from today, Sunday, October 1, 2023, assumes the duties of the headquarters ship of the operation “Peace” under a Greek Commander” he added.
The establishment of the company “Peace” for “the observance of the UN arms embargo on Libya, it was made by a decision of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in 2020, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country making a decisive contribution to the decision” underlined Mr. Dendias.
“This is yet another practical proof that Greece today has a say and a role in the developments in the wider region,” concluded the Minister of National Defense in his post.
