Referring to “the huge problem of pending contract transfers and other acts” the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Konstantinos Kyranakis in his post on Facebook he emphasizes that “it cannot remain unresolved”.

Today they exceed 150,000 and are increasing daily due to the large volume of transactions in real estate, while soon all pending cases in the mortgage offices of the whole country will be added.”

He even clarifies that “we are determined to find a solution to the problem and to reduce the backlog to zero in cooperation with lawyers from all over Greece and their associations”, while he points out that “I presented today to the board of directors of the Land Registry, firstly the doubling of the fee per referral for the legal control of actions from lawyers to the supervisors who sign transfers (from 8 euros to 15 euros), Secondly, the expansion of program contracts with the bar associations and also the Plenary, so that more than 1,000 lawyers can be trained and certified (for those have not already been certified) and thirdly, the launch in October of a digital platform of legal control, so that the lawyer can complete recommendations from his office or home without the current time restrictions of a Land Office”

As he assures “the participants in the new platform will be evaluated through daily statistics for the correctness of the recommendations or for their omissions, while it is clear that their payment will be made exclusively based on criteria of productivity and volume of recommendations. We therefore invite lawyers from all over Greece, as allies in this effort, offering them both the tools and the increased remuneration appropriate to their institutional role. So that together we can lead the Land Registry and the real estate of the Greeks into the new, digital era”.
