“Just two days after the catastrophe in the Parliament of SYRIZA and the entire opposition for the social and labor policy of the government, came the answer today for unemployment from Eurostat. According to Eurostat data, unemployment fell from 17.3% in the summer of 2019 to 12.7% last December, continuing the downward trend of all recent months. This is despite the adverse effects of the coronavirus crisis on the economy and despite the expiry of virtually labor market protection measures regarding the coronavirus.
I note that the same data also records a decrease in youth unemployment. From 37% last November it fell to 30.5% in December. I emphasize this because ignoring the general trend, SYRIZA just a month ago had harshly criticized the level of youth unemployment. Now what does he say?
Obviously I do not note what I have said so far to celebrate, because the unemployment rate remains high and that is why we will remain vigilant, so that the decline in unemployment continues in the coming months.
However, the drop of 4.5 percentage points with the New Democracy government was not accidental. It was the result of our fiscal, fiscal, licensing, employment and insurance policies.
