“The way Costas Bakoyiannis faced defeat was brave”, commented Adonis Georgiadis on Monday morning to SKAI, regarding the subversive result of the self-governing elections in Athens.

“Problems have always existed and will always exist, we didn’t pretend they didn’t exist,” he emphasized on the TODAY show.

Asked if there is arrogance on the part of the ND, the minister replied: “Wasn’t PASOK’s behavior yesterday arrogant? I hope that Mr. Doukas will make Athens better and improve the lives of the residents”, he commented.

Regarding Mr. Bakoyiannis and the Megalo Peripatos, he commented “I believe that the Megalo Peripatos hurt him, but Kostas Bakoyannis did other things these years, he was not judged only for that”.

Regarding the debate between Mr. Bakoyannis and Mr. Doukas, Adonis Georgiadis expressed the opinion that the debate cost the former Mayor of Athens.

“I think so, it cost him. Elections are not an exercise in charity or kindness, they are a battle, it has a goal, to win if you make a move that increases your risk when you don’t need to take a risk, you are wrong. In general, it was a free debate and very nice.”

“PASOK achieved victories, SYRIZA is non-existent”

Regarding Christos Spirtzis’ statement on the SYRIZA-PASOK cooperation for a joint ballot in the European elections, he commented:

“What I understand is that one of the two leaders will lose, so I don’t see much possibility that either of them will want to lose. Last night brought political developments in the opposition, it will bring competition between SYRIZA and PASOK. PASOK is won, it has achieved victories, SYRIZA is non-existent, Mr. Kasselakis went to America on election day. The tug-of-war over which of the two will have the upper hand in the opposition will intensify with the elections, not decrease.”

“We haven’t lost the elections, don’t exaggerate, it was a defeat, but the ND in the municipal elections remains first by a large margin”

“At the end of our term in 2027 we will not remember the victory of Mr. Doukas in Athens, there will be many events until then, one the government is doing its job, improving the lives of the citizens, we have absolutely nothing to fear and last night it will be a bad night in a brilliant course of the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis”, said the Minister of Labor.

Regarding the tension on air yesterday on SKAI, Mr. Georgiadis stated that it was his fault “It was a bad image of me, but I reached my limits”, he explained.

Finally, regarding the post of Stefanos Kasselakis about Giorgios Autias, the minister commented: “The decision of SYRIZA to embargo SKAI and especially the post of its leader asking for the dismissal of Mr. Autias, I consider to be a huge political event and must to be condemned by the political world of the country”.
