Twenty -six countries have pledged to participate in the power for Ukraine’s security, taking on a role on land, sea or air, French President Emmanuel Macron said after the completion of the alliance of the willingness.
Macron added that in the coming days, US support for security guarantees for Ukraine would be finalized.
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine would now coordinate sanctions against Russia with the United States, and warned that if Moscow continues to reject peace talks, there would be new sanctions in coordination with Washington.
The French president began his position by saying that “our message remains the same: Ukraine is on the side of peace, while Russia must be named as the attacker.”
He stressed that Russia seems to “act with the consent of many of its partners around the world”, as it is trying to delay the peace process and continue its attacks on Ukraine.
Macron emphasized the need for security guarantees to Ukraine, noting that the process co -ordinated by leaders and defense staff “laid the foundations” of these guarantees.
As he said, the guarantees are now ready and clarify the military and political involvement of the 35 members to provide Ukraine the support it needs.
“The main argument here is that there are no restrictions on Ukraine’s defense,” he said, emphasizing the need to “reconstitute” the Ukrainian army to “withstand” Russian attacks and prevent new ones.
Concluding, Macron noted that many countries are ready to engage “land, sea or air” in order to “reassure the Ukrainian people, to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire and to guarantee peace”.
Emmanuel Macron also confirmed that European leaders had talked to US President Donald Trump.
As he said, “the conclusions are very simple”, as the US support will be finalized in the coming days.
He added that “we are ready to coordinate our efforts to stop Russia’s war effort.”
The French president stressed that Europeans want a series of meetings, initially between Zelenski and Putin and then in a wider form to end the war. “If Moscow does not want to respect these conditions, we will need to take further steps with the US,” he warned.
Macron said Trump confirmed his intention to participate in the alliance for action if Russia did not comply.
“We cannot allow international law to be violated. We cannot, because this is not just Ukraine; it concerns the security of all of us, “he said.
