Four deletions in six days and Koumoundourou caught fire. Spirits are sharpening every day and the return of Stefanos Kasselakis from the USA will not be easy. It will meet tomorrow Executive Office with Sokratis Famellos, Rania Svigou, George Vasiliadis, Efi Ahtsioglou, Rena Dourou, Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou, Dora Avgeri and Theodora Tzakri to discuss the latest developments with the president. Essentially, the “bloc” of the internal party opposition will be represented only by the former Minister of Labor. And it will be interesting what will be said between the two former gladiators about the leadership of SYRIZA.

Efi Ahtsioglou has not opened her papers on how she will move from here on. There is no doubt that the group that supported her in the first round of the elections will join the “Umbrella” in the Central Committee on November 11-12, however it is a fact that they are waiting. The split is considered a given, but only the wing of Tsakalotos, Skourletis and Fili will take the initiative to create a new movement at this stage. The joint announcement of Ahtsioglou, Iliopoulos and Haritsis it was a new fact that showed that they have decided to be more intrusive from now on. They asked for the speeding up of the Congress, the immediate convening of the Political Secretariat and criticized the logic of the “clearances” that operate without respect for the statutory rules. Yesterday, the intervention of Euclid Tsakalotos was also pivotal, showing the understanding that exists between the two sides.

In any case, at the meeting of the leading governing body, it is very likely that the “seal” will be put on the “political divorce” between “neo-presidential” and “Umbrella”. Coexistence is impossible and every passing day seems to cost SYRIZA. From the leadership side it is clear that they are determined not to back down. They will not have discussions, nor will they enter into negotiations and Stefanos Kasselakis will proceed with new deletions if necessary. They wish there were “calm waters” although they are not sure that the message has reached all recipients. For the presidential wing, this is the only way for SYRIZA to concentrate undivided on its institutional work and its role in the Parliament in view of the budget battle.

The meeting of the Central Committee will not be the only crash test that Stefanos Kasselakis will have to successfully pass in the next period. Traditionally, the Political Secretariat is convened in order to prepare the agenda. And there the “deleted” Nikos Filis, Panos Skourletis and Stefanos Tzoumakas will find themselves in the same room as Stefanos Kasselakis.
