Request for recommendation Pre-investigation Committee is filed today by SYRIZA-PS, according to Koumoundourou sources, based on, as they say, “the content of the criminal case file, sent by the European prosecutor from the competent prosecution authority, for the contract “717/2014″, with the inviolable condition of including the period of formation of the contract and the integration of responsibilities”.

Furthermore, they add, within the depreciation period provided by the legislation and the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, will testify and a request for a preliminary investigation commission into the Tempe crash-crime.

Explaining the attitude of SYRIZA, the same sources state: “The experience to date of investigating cases in the Parliament through parliamentary committees – either investigative or pre-investigative – by the ND government is disappointing, as with its parliamentary majority it leads to a cover-up and amnesty cases. Whether they are investigative or preliminary committees, they have been shown to be rendered useless by the ND through the partisan instrumentalization of the parliamentary majority rule. And the Greek society must know this”.

However, they add, “aware of our role as official opposition, we will use all the parliamentary tools at our disposal to investigate the truth by submitting our own proposal of two investigative committees.”

They refer to the KKE’s proposal for a KKE commission of inquiry arguing: “It is completely unappealing and is clearly aimed at spreading the blame to everyone responsible and irresponsible for the crime of Tempe (even the EU is trying to assign responsibility…)”. However, SYRIZA-PS “respecting the memory of the 57 victims and standing fully on the side of their relatives who are looking for justice, decided – in addition to submitting its own proposal for the establishment of a Pre-Inquiry Committee – to cooperate in every initiative (wherever it comes from, whatever motive and whatever expediency it hides and whatever end it has) that could shed even a little light into the darkness that the government is trying to cast in this particular case.”
