Tayyip Erdogan will be received at 11.30 by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The meeting with the President of the Hellenic Republic is expected to take place not in her office, but in the large hall, the so-called Credentials Room.

The President of the Republic will be waiting for Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the entrance of the Presidential Palace to welcome him. Afterwards, they will walk together to the Presidential Palace in order to reach the room where the meeting will be held.

The delegation accompanying the Turkish president and the staff of the President of the Republic will leave in order to let them make a four by four discussion the two of them and when it is completed they will leave the Credentials Hall and the Turkish President will sign the guest book.

Then the Turkish President is expected to walk the few meters that separate the two buildings, in order to go to the Maximos Palace – at 12.15 – for the meeting with the Prime Minister, in the context of the meeting of the 5th Supreme Council of Greece-Turkey Cooperation. Afterwards, the Prime Minister and Mr. Erdogan will make statements to the press. It will be followed by a working lunch of the plenary session of the Supreme Cooperation Council

The interest from both the Greek and the Turkish media is enormous. According to information, more than 10 journalists and of course the corresponding cameras and technicians will accompany the Turkish president from the neighboring country.

THE President of the Republic returned yesterday from Vienna, where she made an official visit, following the invitation of her Austrian counterpart, where, among other things, Greek-Turkish relations were discussed. As Katerina Sakellaropoulou characteristically said, the atmosphere of calm that prevails lately favors efforts to find common ground for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Parallel meetings

Earlier, at 11.30 the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias will have a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Guler, at the Armed Forces Officers Club. Also, at 12 noon, the Minister of National Economy and Finance K. Hatzidakis will meet with his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Simsek, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs K. Fragogiannis and A. Papadopoulos will meet with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Burak Aktsapar, the Minister of Immigration and Asylum D Kairidis, Citizen Protection G. Economos and Maritime and Island Policy Chr. Stylianidis with the Minister of the Interior of Turkey Ali Gerlikaya, the Minister of Tourism O. Kefalogianni and Culture L. Mendonis with the Minister of Culture of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoi and the Minister of Education K. Pierrakakis with the Minister of National Education of Turkey Yusuf Tekin.

During the official visit of Mr. Erdoğan, extraordinary traffic arrangements are being made (gradual and temporary stoppage of traffic, as well as prohibition of stopping and parking), in various parts of the road network of the wider area of ​​the Center of Athens, while EL.AS. announced a ban on gatherings during the visit.
