Stefanos Kasselakis contacted the President of SYRIZA’s KO, Sokratis Famellos, in order to resubmit the marriage equality bill, following the Prime Minister’s decision to “put the brakes” on the same-sex marriage bill, he says in his post the president of SYRIZA.

Mr. Mitsotakis, you make us feel like second class citizens. When a person is thirsty for equality and inclusion, you don’t tell him ‘wait for me to explain’, as you stated yesterday”, the SYRIZA president wrote, among other things, in a post on his official X account Stefanos Kasselakis.

“There is nothing to ‘explain’ in the world about marriage for everyone. All you have to say is this: Yes or no to marriage equality? Are you really in favor, Mr. Mitsotakis?” continues the president of SYRIZA.

The post in detail:

I just contacted the President of SYRIZA’s KO, Sokratis Famello, and asked him, as soon as the Parliament opens, to resubmit the marriage equality bill.

After the Prime Minister’s decision yesterday to delay his own bill, it is my only option.

And as long as he postpones, hesitates, obstructs, measures the reactions of his conservative MPs and reassures the ears of his far-right voters, SYRIZA moves forward.

Mr. Mitsotakis, you make us feel like second class citizens.
When a person hungers for equality and inclusion, you don’t tell them “wait for me to explain,” as you stated yesterday.

There is nothing to “explain” to the world regarding marriage for everyone.

Just as there was nothing to explain to their societies in their time, the leaders who advanced the abolition of slavery, women’s suffrage, gender equality, civil marriage, the civil partnership.

Societies are never ready unless their leaders are ready.
You can’t, we can.
You are afraid, we are not.

All you have to say is this:
Yes or no to marriage equality?

Are you really in favor, Mr. Mitsotakis?

If so, you will be upvoted.
If not, you will be hiding behind Mr. Voridis once again
