“The goal of the New Left is to elect an MEP or MEPs in the European elections in June. The New Left was formed in KO a month and a half ago, this is a new effort. “In the next period, what is important is to convince the people to trust us as it is a worthy effort with progressive positions that can exercise a modern oppositional attitude towards the ND. As time goes by, the relationship of trust is consolidated.”

“The road map is to have 80 open assemblies all over Greece by the end of February, to hold a nationwide conference and integration in September of the new party. The European elections are important because it will be the first impression of the dynamics”.

For SYRIZA and partnerships

Regarding SYRIZA’s fall in the polls, Ms. Ahtsioglu said “there is no question of satisfaction or not. Our departure from SYRIZA was a matter of conscience, it will not be decided, it has already been decided, we could no longer cooperate in this space for political reasons as well as coexistence.

Regarding the issue of future collaborations with other parties, Ms. Ahtsioglou emphasized that “collaborations should not be between presidentsbut they are about how you will build future dynamics” and added that “we are trying to build social alliances”.
