Speaking today in Haidari, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, sent a new message to farmers saying: “Let me say it again, open dialogue with open roads. Kanis cannot blackmail society, no matter how fair his request is.”

During his speech, the prime minister noted: “Don’t feel that some social group can have some preferential treatment, because they can shout more when they demonstrate.”

Addressing the farmers, he said that “we were the ones who reduced their taxation, the ones who negotiated a Common Agricultural Policy, which yes, has difficulties, and here we are again discussing how we can make it better.

We were the ones who fought the illegal Greekizations, who gave more than 1 billion euros in the four years for compensations. And we are always open to dialogue.

But let me say it again. Open dialogue with open roads. Kanis cannot blackmail society, no matter how fair his request is.”

During his tour in Haidari, the prime minister, addressing the citizens, said that he has walked the streets of the area many times, as a member of parliament, as a minister, as a prime minister.

He even wanted to say a big “thank you” to them because, as he pointed out, “together we managed to achieve something that maybe a few years ago seemed like an elusive dream: to bring ND first in all of Western Athens. Especially over here in Haidari, we got 38% and SYRIZA 19% and we owe that to all of you.

We owe it to the old fighters of the party, whom I always want to remember because you kept the party standing in difficult times. But we also owe it to many new friends, who came and joined our great progressive faction, because today the ND is the only truly popular party in our homeland that expresses the concerns and expectations of all Greeks”.
