With the Managing Director of the Vodafone Group Margherita Della Valle met met on Thursday at Megaros Maximos the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. During the meeting, the important investments that the company is launching in Greece and the possibilities of further cooperation were discussed.
“I am very glad that you are visiting us. I am very interested to hear about the investments you are going to make in Greece, which are very important from what I have been informed and from previous discussions. You know that we have made significant investments in our digital transition, and we know that there are also significant funds from the Recovery Fund going to projects in which you are involved. However, there is more we can do, and we can’t do it without the participation of the big telcos. So, I am very happy to meet you and I look forward to what you will do and your investments in Greece”, emphasized the Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting.
“This is the first visit I am making as CEO in a country other than the UK, where we are based, or Germany, which is our largest market. I chose to come to Greece because I think it could be a very interesting discussion. And I would like to share with you the prospect for investment in the country, as we see it,” Ms. Della Valle noted for her part.
During the meeting, the company’s investment plan in Greece was presented, which will amount to 1 billion euros for the next 5 years, while the initiatives taken by the government regarding on the spectrum for the 5G network and on the wider digital transformation of the economy.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, the Minister of State Stavros Papastavrou, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Yiannis Bratakos, the CEO of Vodafone Europe Serpil Timuray and the President and CEO of Vodafone Greece Haris Broumidis.
