The new political body, under the title “Kosmos”, which will take part in the upcoming European elections in June as well as in the national elections, was presented on Wednesday at a special event by Petros Kokkalis.

On Friday morning, he himself spoke to SKAI and the program SIMERA about the political body, saying that “Greece is missing the political family of the Greens, which focuses on the climate crisis”.

“The important thing is to succeed in helping to exist, to establish in the political dialogue a political force that will be focused on scientific reality, on solutions that are based on a long-term plan and have at their center the protection of the human being,” he said

Mr. Kokkalis explained that “The climate affects all our activities, agricultural production, tourism, public health” stressing that “the European green parties have a very rich agenda”.

“We will also participate in the national elections”

He declared that he is going to participate in the European elections on June 9, but also in the national elections. “We will participate in the European elections on June 9, we will hold a conference and of course we will also participate in the national elections.”

“There is a great need to have a professional, serious, competitive green party in our country as well. I definitely do not belong to the party that Mr. Samaras represented yesterday with his speech.”

Finally, regarding the bill for the marriage of same-sex couples, he emphasized that “the issue of rights is central to the parties of the green arc. I would vote for the same-sex marriage bill with both hands.”
