The Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Outreach is leaving for India today, Monday Costas Fragogiannisaccompanied by the General Secretary of International Economic Relations and President of Enterprise Greece Myra Myrogianni and a large business delegation.
It is an ambitious undertaking of economic diplomacy with the aim of opening up Greek entrepreneurship to a huge and rapidly developing global market as well as the general strengthening of the bilateral economic relations between Greece and India. The visit follows the successful visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Athens last August (2023), accompanied by powerful Indian businessmen, who had expressed a strong interest in strengthening their business ties with Greece.
India shipment includes 3 stationsin New Delhi (20-21.2), Mumbai (22.2) and Bangalore (23.2), where business forums and B2B meetings are planned between the approximately 70 Greek companies participating in the mission and corresponding Indian companies.
Especially in New Delhi, the visit was planned on the occasion of the 2nd India-Europe Business & Sustainability Conclave. The Conclave is an initiative of the Indian government in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industries, with the aim of highlighting the need for closer India-Europe economic cooperation to address the challenges facing the global community.
Deputy Minister Mr Fragogiannis will deliver a keynote address at the Conclave with an emphasis on shipping and the prospects of a sustainable blue economy, while the work of the Conclave will be jointly welcomed by the Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis – who will be in New Delhi accompanying the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis – and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The leading industries represented in the mission and which will be the subject of discussion at the thematic events are: energy, shipping, pharmaceuticals, technology, industrial equipment, food and beverages, tourism, real estate market, construction and audio-visual industry.
It is noted that the business forum in Mumbai will be graced by the presence of the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakisas part of his visit to India.
