Filed today in the Education Affairs Committee of the Parliament the final design of the bill “Strengthening the Public University-Framework for the operation of non-profit branches of foreign universities” by the Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
The debate in the Education Affairs Committee is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 27 and be completed in four sittings.

The text of the bill has undergone changes after the ten-day public consultationduring which 1506 comments were submitted, many of which were considered to be of particular interest, resulting in the final text having undergone changes from the original draft and having more than 205 articles.
Yesterday the government representative Pavlos Marinakis stated that 70% of the bill concerns the Public Universityfreedoms are granted to public HEIs and their funding through the budget, the Recovery Fund and emergency aid will reach 1 billion Euros.
