At the end of March, with an event that will take place in Athens, the New Left will make the official start of the pre-election campaign for the European elections on June 9, announcing the first names of the MEP candidates, as Spokesperson Kostis Karpozilos said, in a meeting with journalists in Thessaloniki.

Mr. Karpozilos refused to name the candidate MEPs, saying that the New Left is open to collaborations with people of different ideological backgrounds, there will be regional representation and the aim is for 50% of the ballot to be made up of women.

He said that there is no threshold for the percentage of the New Left in the European elections and when asked about the possibility of not reaching the 3% limit, he emphasized that he does not feel existential anxiety.

The Spokesman of the New Left observed that “equilibriums of terror” prevail in SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance and PASOK-Movement of Change and noted that the “compromising and contradictory”, as he described it, policy of Nikos Androulakis and Stefanos must be defeated in the European elections Kasselaki against the Mitsotakis government.

At 7:00 p.m., Mr. Karpozilos will speak at the founding assembly of the New Left in the historical center of Thessaloniki.
