“Government representative Pavlos Marinakis continued today, unleashing insults once again that insult not the opposition, as he might think, but the victims of the crime of Tempi and their relatives,” says the SYRIZA-PS in his announcement.

In particular, it accuses Mr. Marinakis of “persisting on the miserable characterization of ‘political leeches’, trying to diminish the effort being made to punish the real culprits for the tragedy that led to the death of 57 young people”. SYRIZA-PS “returns the characterization” and “informs” him that “political leeches” are “those who continue to ignore the memory of the dead people”, “those who try to cover political figures by exploiting their position, considering that it is not necessary to be accountable to the Greek people”, “those who try to cover up the politicians involved”, “those who hid yesterday leaving the government seats empty, while at the same time the victims’ relatives watched anxiously from the galleries”.

SYRIZA-PS adds that “this characterization belongs to those who continue to show disrespect to the blood and labor of Greek citizens. Who are not interested in the fact that the great majority suffer from exactness and overtaxation, while at the same time they are possessed by a feeling of insecurity that concerns even their daily transportation”. He comments that “Mr. Marinakis should apologize on behalf of Prime Minister Mr. Mitsotakis and also Mr. Costas Ah. Karamanlis who were absent from the Parliament yesterday, instead of pointing the finger at those who are fighting for the truth to come to light”.

Finally, the official opposition party underlines that “as long as they continue to ignore the memory of the dead children and ignore the pain of the relatives, SYRIZA-PS will not take a single step back. He will stand by them, until their vindication.”
