A strong PASOK is not just a matter of party patriotism, but a national necessity in order to put a stop to the arrogance, corruption and inequalities produced by government policies”, says the president of PASOK-Movement for Change, among other things, Nikos Androulakis in an interview with “Parapolitika”. He points out that no stability is at risk in the European elections but instead argues that what “is at risk is the standard of living of the Greek people which is getting worse month by month due to the accuracy and the cost of living, the sense of security of the citizens which is constantly shrinking, the quality of the Democracy and the rule of law that is injured by the successive scandals and the cover-up attempted by the Maximos Palace” . “Even in national matters they are dangerously amateurs. Ms. Christofilopoulos “testified” that the motivations of Mr. Beleris’ candidacy were neither national nor European but only vote-seeking,” adds Mr. Androulakis.

The voters, as he says, the president of PASOK must trust it with their vote because it has the credibility, the processed positions and the human resources not only to stand up as a real official opposition to the government but also to become the responsible force again governance of the place. “We are the only party that has achieved such crucial victories against the government and in favor of the people and the Republic. We demonstrate in practice what responsible, creative opposition means”, he emphasizes.

Mr. Androulakis criticizes the government for failing to curb accuracy citing inter alia the recent Financial Times article.

“It is not called a success story and the Greeks do not live in a virtual reality. That is why on June 9 they must denounce a government that has worsened their standard of living and their daily life. Even those who voted for New Democracy, let them reflect on whether the 41% government has honored their trust and let them support the Democratic Party in order to have a strong and serious opposition,” he underlines.

He insists on his position that “the government is trying, through satellite parties of the New Democracy, to create a protection zone where disaffected voters will be ‘parked’, but with the aim of the ‘parking’ parties colluding with the government at the first opportunity.” The designs are so obvious that they are doomed to fail. Because the current in favor of PASOK cannot be stopped”.

Nikos Androulakis accuses the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, of how “he is a ‘gift’ from God” for Mr. Mitsotakis laying the carpet for him to threaten with the pseudo-dilemma “stability or chaos”.

The president of PASOK emphatically reiterates his commitment that after the European elections “every step will be taken to reconstruct the progressive space in the light of day, with agreements on the table and at the base of society. Not in closed party offices, in the absence of citizens. It is my commitment to open this dialogue the day after the European elections”.

“I’ll admit that I don’t like pretentious smiles, but I also have a sense of humor and I’ll make jokes, with the only difference being that I won’t replace politics with a reality show. I took the famous video of the screws because that’s how I felt at the time, wanting to tease my mother who had burned them. This probably won’t go over well once Mrs. Poppy reads it! So I’d rather honestly look people in the eye than self-referentially look at the camera on Tik Tok. This is the kind of effectiveness I claim and this is the authenticity I want to transmit to the citizens”, answers Nikos Androulakis on whether it would be more appropriate for PASOK to “play” in breakfasts.
