In the context of his interview on CRETA TV, the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, commented on the stake of government stability that the Prime Minister poses in the run-up to the European elections.

“Mr. Mitsotakis argues that the stake of the European elections is political stability. After the decision of the Justice for the “Spartans” it can have more than 160 seats, so it is blackmailing the Greek people. I find it inconceivable what he is doing once again. The Greek people gave him 41% and he can’t govern? Mr. Mitsotakis is intemperate and directly insults the intelligence of the Greek people,” he noted.

Mr. Androulakis also referred to the latest development of OPEKEPE being subject to European supervision due to poor management, and severely criticized the government’s handling.

“We have a minister who pretends to be the great modernizer and how he is reforming the Ministry of Rural Development and at the same time the European Commission announces that it is putting OPEKEPE under supervision due to its inability to distribute European funds. The minister says that it is not his fault, who is to blame? OPEKEPE changed five presidents during New Democracy. All the farmers got their money normally, this year will be the worst year of payment to farmers and ranchers. They have them hostage. And instead of the minister and the Prime Minister taking their responsibilities because they have been governing for 5 years, Mr. Avgenakis attacks me. Let the Prime Minister and himself apologize to the Greek people for once again exposing our country and leave the characterizations, because they also show the morals of every political person” said the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.

“In the health sector, the Greek people pay the highest private costs in all of Europe after Bulgaria. Our doctors have the worst salaries in all of Europe, above Bulgaria. We have the lowest purchasing power in all of Europe, again only surpassed by Bulgaria. I don’t say them, they are elements of the European Union,” he noted.

“You know the fear of no worse will lead us to much worse. And this is my message to your viewers: Mr. Mitsotakis got 41% for the no worse of SYRIZA, but “no worse – no worse”, we will go to much worse. Now there is no such thing as a scarecrow. He is trying to rebuild it by playing Mr. Kasselakis, even though he has an easily manageable opposition. New Democracy and personally the Prime Minister do not want my own opposition, because it is the opposition of this particular one. Mr. Mitsotakis knows very well that the only party that can open the exit door for him from the Maximos Palace is the hand of PASOK” added Mr. Androulakis.

Referring to the political goals of PASOK-Movement for Change, he underlined: “The goal of PASOK is in the next national elections to claim the government and its program to be a government solution. Let’s be that force, which will convince itself that it can face the New Democracy and put an end to the rule of Mr. Mitsotakis. The fact that the government feels that it is not in danger has led it to a parade of arrogance, which needs to be put on the brakes. The existence of a strong opposition will force it to finally look at the problems and not the chairs. Only PASOK can exercise this opposition”.
“Second place is not enough for us, we also want to see a “green” prefecture. I am optimistic because we have a very strong ballot” he commented when asked about the electoral goals of the Movement in Crete.
