The Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekasargued that the new legislative initiative includes measures of a structural nature aimed at tackling at the root the problem of inflation, profiteering and unfair market practices, protecting consumers from inaccuracy, enhancing transparency, facilitating investment and to further strengthen businesses affected by natural disasters.
For their part, all the Opposition parties talked about cursory and piecemeal measures that only help to increase even more the profits of multinationals at the expense of Greek consumers.
