The minister met with representatives of the administrative bodies of the HEIs, faculty members and students and was informed about the needs of the institutions.
After the completion of the meetings, Mr. Pierrakakis made the following post:
“Today was dedicated to the university departments of the regional unit of Heraklion. We visited infrastructures of the University of Crete and the Hellenic Mediterranean University and discussed with representatives of the administrative bodies, faculty members and students about the needs of their institutions.
The law on higher education that we recently passed focuses on public universities. By increasing funding and introducing new tools, we aim to strengthen our institutions by upgrading their academic capabilities and infrastructure.
At the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, we are in constant cooperation with the regional HEIs, with the aim of their continuous strengthening”.
