“Our goal is to do a bigger ‘My Home’ program”
The prime minister gave a full interview on Friday morning Kyriakos Mitsotakis to ANT1where he spoke, among other things, about European electionsthe accuracy, the demographic and Tempe.
Initially, the prime minister reiterated the criticality of the European elections, because they will determine “how strong our voice will be in Europe in the next 5 years”, while adding that the stronger the ND is, the stronger voice it will have in Europe.
“The European election has characteristics of a national election, the opposition has turned June 9 into an informal referendum. If the other parties had come to these elections with proposals for Europe, this would not have happened. In 80% of my speeches I try to talk about Europe though. In any case, voting in the European elections should not take on the characteristics of a protest vote.”
In a question about him forearm her ballot box her June 9ththe prime minister reminded that the target is 33% for the ND, while he criticized the other opposition parties, which “I have not heard them set their own bar”.
“Intensified accuracy in the country due to the 10-year crisis that preceded – The cost of SYRIZA promises is €45 billion.”
Regarding her burning issue accuracy, Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out that “the situation seems to be getting a little better. In Greece, the problem of accuracy is more acute because of the ten-year crisis that preceded it.”
“We are asking for European support in a European problem. I am impressed that the subject of the letter to Ursula von der Leyen on dealing with punctuality was so underestimated by the opposition, especially since punctuality is a national issue”, he then said, while regarding the VAT reduction he underlined that it costs much to the public coffers.
“Those who ask the government to reduce the VAT, it would be good to give us countermeasures”, while he once again directed his “fires” at the president of SYRIZA, reminding that the cost of his promises is 45 billion euros. “Therefore, anyone who escapes the European fiscal rules will automatically come under surveillance.”
He added, in fact, that the benefits given by the government prove that our social policy is aimed at the weakest.
In particular, he pointed out:
“I wish we could increase pensions more, we can’t. We do the best we can without ignoring that there are citizens who are having a hard time. And the bonus policy we apply is aimed at them. If you look at the benefits you will see that they are for rent and housing, they are for children and they are for people with disabilities.”
“Besides,” he added, “we are taking steps to increase tax compliance and cut more taxes. Don’t forget what we received in 2019, to date we have reduced a total of 50 taxes.”
“The increase in rental prices is a matter of supply and demand”
Commenting on the issue of prices of rents write down:
“Rental increases are a matter of supply and demand. Our aim is to make a bigger “My Home” program.
He also revealed that as a government we are “planning deliberate restrictions on Airbnb so that there are more properties available on the market and thus increase the number of homes for long-term rental”.
“The demographic is not just about children, it’s also about aging”
The demographic is also an aging issue. How we will keep the pensioners is important”, Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized regarding the critical issue of demographiccommenting that “I am proud of the reform where pensioners continue to work without their pensions being reduced with a small taxation for the time they work”.
“It is a structural, long-term, non-Greek problem that unfortunately does not have a magic answer. The measures for the roof e.g. they help a family have a child or more children.”
“We will exhaust the scope of the debate on the delimitation of the EEZ in the Aegean”
Asked about the Greek-Turkishthe Prime Minister stated:
“We are not discussing any other issue with Turkey that has been defined by international treaties”, while for the marine parks in the Aegean he reminded that “we will not take anyone’s permission for what we will do in our own zones of sovereignty”.
At the same time, he pointed out that “we will exhaust the possibilities to discuss the issue of delimiting the continental shelf and EEZ. The rest of the issues will not be discussed by any Greek government, as they have been resolved by history and international conditions.”
“Society’s demand for justice for Tempe – Any victim’s relative has asked to speak to me, I have”
For the tragedy of TempoMr. Mitsotakis reminded that the case is a burden for the government but above all for the Justice which now has the burden.
“This case should not be partisan. Ask the opposition parties to account for the instrumentalization of this issue”, while at the same time he revealed that “any relative who contacted me, I explained my version. I did not instrumentalize it, I did not invest in the relative’s pain,” he said.
