The PASOK executive said that a grassroots movement must be developed to unite progressive forces
The party executive spoke about the developments in PASOK, Kostas Skandalidis pointing out that the party should to do a hard reboot.
“2 big steps have been taken. During Fofis Gennimata we went from 4% to 8%. With Nikos Androulakis, we went from 8% to 13%,” explained Mr. Skandalidis speaking on the SKAI show “Mismatched”, pointing out that the party now has to make a big leap and to do this voters should come to the polls again.
Regarding when the intra-party polls should be set up, Mr. Skandalidis answered autumn to allow time for a reboot to occur.
Regarding the possible candidacy of Haris Doukas, even if it is a hasty decision, Mr. Skandalidis said that “everyone has their own tactics and strategy”.
However, he pointed out that has not singled out a candidate.
“I can’t talk about people. I’m interested in there being 3 and 4 candidates, for 300,000 people to gather at the ballot box and for the new president to guarantee that these 300,000 will be at the forefront of politics.”
The PASOK executive also said that “a grassroots movement must be developed to unite the progressive forces” and underlined that the issue is to build an organization that will become a majority at its base.
At the same time, Mr. Skandalidis argued that “obviously Mr. Androulakis is responsible for the result of the European elections”.
In addition, he argued that the new president of PASOK does not need to be in the parliament, while he said that he is a soldier of the faction for its unity and its course.
