“Zero tolerance for any illegal action that tarnishes the prestige of the region and insults the citizens” is the message of Nikos Hardalias
The regional governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, is preparing radical changes in the health control services of the Region in the shadow of the arrest of a total of 12 employees, Public Health Supervisors, for their involvement in the extortion ring in which employees of the Municipal Police of Athens and the Ministry of Culture also participated.
All 12 involved were immediately placed on leave. “Zero tolerance for any illegal action that tarnishes the prestige of the region and insults the citizens” is the message of Nikos Hardalia.
In this context, the regional governor of Attica intends to proceed with changes in the audit services with safety valves in their operation, with the reinforcement of the “corruptible”, i.e. the Internal Audit service of the Region, which is being upgraded to a Directorate and with the drawing of secondary health control crews .
PASOK: Suspension of party membership
In the meantime, the PASOK announced that the party status of two of its members, employees of the Ministry of Culture, involved in the extortion ring, had been suspended.
As stated in the announcement of the Ethics Committee of the PASOK-Movement of Change Statute and Certification: “Due to their alleged involvement in a criminal case, which saw the light of day, the Ethics, Statute and Certification Committee suspended the party status of two members of PASOK-Movement for Change, whom it informed accordingly, until the end of the criminal proceedings.”
Suspension of duties by the Ministry of Culture
The two specific individuals were also suspended from their duties by the Ministry of Culture, by decision of Minister Lina Mendoni.
The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifically states: “From the Ministry of Culture it is announced that, following the document sent today by the Greek Police, in which reference is made to the criminally hellish and disciplinary actions of employees of the Ministry, by decision of the Minister of Culture, Linas Mendoni, the above employees are immediately placed in suspension of duties, in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Servants Code and the prescribed zero tolerance procedure follows”.
It is recalled that a total of three employees of the ministry are involved, among other things, in the action of the ring that provided protection to shopkeepers and owners of hotels and properties for a rough fee, which was dismantled after an investigation and a coordinated operation by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces.
The new facts that have come to light about the actions of the spiral that extorted shopkeepers are shocking.
A notebook kept by the leader, 43-year-old Nancy in particular, was what “burned” them. She actually kept two notebooks, where the income and expenses of the illegal activity of the blackmail ring of shopkeepers that she at least allegedly directed are recorded. The notebook shows the date 7/15/2021. That is, for at least three years. apparently the circuit was operating, at least according to the notes that the 43-year-old leader had in her possession, and apparently there was also an extension. Beyond the central area of Athens, they seem to have expanded to the northern and western areas as well, with extortion of shopkeepers in Kifissia, Agia Paraskevi and Peristeri.
