For the second time in three summers, Orestiada, with the productive work in the sport, hosts the Balkan Ping Ping Championship Under 15 and Under 19 at the Nikos Samaras indoor gym.
The annual event takes place from Tuesday 24th until Saturday 28/6 and “opens a curtain” on Monday with the opening ceremony at 19:30.
Orestiada welcomes the missions earlier, leaves them with the gym for the established training session and officially welcomes them early in the evening, giving the mark on the importance of the new withdrawal of the historic championship for EFOEA. and the city. At the end of the opening ceremony, the members of the missions and the officials will have the opportunity to discuss and relax with a buffet on the gym lobby.
The championship is co-organized by EFOEA, the local GM Friendship, the Municipality of Orestiada and the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace under the auspices of the Balkan Table Tennis Union (BTTU).
There will be 11 of BTTU’s 12 member countries. Apart from the “host” Greece, who will line up 6 teenagers, 6 children, 6 girls and 5 youngsters, will be attended by: Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia/Bosnia.
A total of 12 tables will be used, and the gym has a four -table training session. The lounge was set up, just a free space was left in its center for the needs of the opening ceremony.
Like every year the event includes all the competitions. The team groups are held on Monday late in the afternoon. After the start of the championship, the first draws will be made in the individual. Teamwork in teenagers, young people (Under 19), children and girls (Under 15) will cover the first two days with the racing schedule opening on Tuesday at 09:00 with groups in children and girls. At 10:30 the teenagers and young teams will take a series of teams.
The finals are set for Wednesday at 17:30 in the Under 15 team, as well as the matches for the bronze medal and rating. The corresponding under 19 matches will take place at 19:00 and the prize awards will be followed.
On Thursday 26/6, the simple groups of the simple groups come to the start at 09:00 by the girls. All the races will be completed on the same day and, after a break, the knockouts will begin at 17:00.
On Friday 27/6, the dashboard in the doubles of the four categories will enter the program from 09:00 and at 12:15 will take the knockouts in the simple. The fourth day program will close with the semifinals (18:00) and the final (19:00) of the double mixed.
Next Saturday the start of the games is at 09:30 with the semifinals in the double teenagers, young men, children and girls. At 10:30 the semifinals will follow in the simple. At 12:00 the four finals were set in the double, at 13:30 the equal numbers in the simple (the individual competitions are not foreseen for the 3-4 positions) and the program will be closed shortly after the prizes awards.
