The president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, speaks of the great damage that the Greek State has suffered from government policies in the last year, stating how “Kostis Hatzidakis and the government team of Kyriakos Mitsotakis have lost 1.567 billion euros in one year”. The president of SYRIZA cites a relevant table.

The post of the president of SYRIZA

“Mr. Hatzidakis took over as Minister of National Economy in mid-2023 finding cumulative losses of €37 billion from the recapitalization of the banks.

Since then, he managed and contractually sold the participation of the State in 7 companies (National Bank 22%, ELPE 4%, Eurobank 1.4%, Aegean 11.5%, Alpha Bank 9%, Piraeus 27% and El. Venizelos 30% of shares). All this within 6 months!

If we calculate the differences between the prices of the shares he sold and today’s, the loss for the Greek taxpayer is €514 million.

If we calculate the dividends lost for the State – only for this year – this is €157 million! (think about what benefits the State would have in the next 10 years!)

We certainly do not forget the losses of PPC – which had followed exactly the same procedure again by the “usual suspect” of privatizations at the expense of the State, Mr. Hatzidakis – a loss of 17% from 2021 – these are €895 million (865 million .from the difference in value of shares and 30 million from dividends).

In total, Mr. Hatzidakis and the government team of Mr. Mitsotakis have lost 1.567 billion in one year, at the expense of the Greek State.
Excellent for their “friends”, selling off the property of the Greek people.

And of course with the ND in government, the Law on the responsibility of Ministers is not going to change despite the social demand, both for Tempi and for such damaging decisions.

ND answered us through circles: “The government consistently serves the public interest and its policy will be recorded in this particular issue as well.”

But the numbers are relentless. The silence of many media and politicians is deafening.

Citizens have the right to know the truth.”
