The NATO Secretary-General said, among other things, that he expects the US to remain a “faithful” NATO ally, regardless of the outcome of the US election
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in Washington today that he expects the US to remain a “faithful” NATO ally regardless of the outcome of the US election in November.
“I expect that, whatever the outcome of the election, the US will remain a strong and loyal NATO ally,” Stoltenberg told reporters shortly before the Alliance’s summit in Washington.
At the same time he stressed that he expects the Allies to agree on a significant package to help Ukraine in the war against the Russian invasion, adding that the aid will serve as a bridge to the integration of Kiev into the Alliance.
Speaking at the NATO summit, Stoltenberg added that it was too early to say when Ukraine would be accepted as a NATO member.
Additionally, he noted, while NATO sees no imminent military threat against any member of the Alliance, it sees a pattern of increased Russian hostile acts ranging from disinformation to sabotage
