For the “taunting” of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises “by the “excellent” of the Mitsotakis government, as they are suddenly called to return subsidies precisely to the electricity due to government oligarchy and incompetence”, says SYRIZA in its announcement and calls for the resignation of the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis:

In particular it states: “As a publication reveals, with a joint ministerial decision published on June 10 – not coincidentally, one day after the European elections! – and firstly signed by K. Hatzidakis, thousands of small businesses are obliged to return the horizontal subsidy – amounting to hundreds of euros – which they had received in 2022 to deal with the energy crisis and increased prices. And the reason? The subsidies were given irregularly, as the Mitsotakis government did not secure the necessary approval from the European Competition Commission!».

SYRIZA notes that it had first filed a related question in February 2024, “while the government already knew from December 2023 that these subsidies would be requested back.”

“After all that“, emphasizes the official opposition, “we can only ask for the resignation of Mr. K. Hatzidakis”. “Because”, as he states, “it fools the citizens, because such a sudden demand in conditions of generalized accuracy, constitutes a mockery and an immoral attitude towards hard-working people, because the fairy tale of “excellence” must stop».
