Greece responded by deploying three navy and coast guard ships.

On their part, diplomatic sources they emphasize how “The Italian ship Levoli Relume is investigating the laying of submarine cables near Kasos. The deployment of Turkish navy ships in the area, following the sailing of the research ship in international waters, resulted in the deployment of Greek warships as well” and they add that “due consultations are taking place with a view to completing the investigation based on the existing planning.”

It is recalled that “Ievoli Relume” carries out surveys for which a NAVTEX of the Heraklion station of the Hydrographic Service has been issued (693/24). Turkey had also reacted by issuing its own NAVTEX (0671/24) with which it states that part of the investigations concern the area of ​​the Turkish continental shelf.
