Just two days after the episodic meeting on Tuesday, with the tension between Stefanos Kasselakis and eight executives, who left the meeting due to a disagreement that arose over the date of the Congress, a new “storm” hit the party of Koumoundourou, this once starring Pavlos Polakis, who was deleted from the Parliamentary Group by decision of the president.

This time, Mr Pavlos Polakis launched a verbal attack on an associate of Adonis Georgiadis, provoking a reaction even from SYRIZA MPs, which resulted in his removal from the SYRIZA KO. But Pavlos Polakis did not stay there. With his post on Facebook, he hints at a “set-up” and sends a message to the leadership of SYRIZA that “only the people delete”.

The last episode starring Polakis was essentially the last straw. It is a fact that Pavlos Polakis stood by Stefanos Kasselakis from the beginning and in a dynamic way. However, it was clear that the two characters had many and important – structurally – different approaches to many issues.

The beginning was made with the government’s bill on the marriage of same-sex couples. Stefanos Kasselakis was clear on the specific subject, speaking of a self-evident positive vote. Pavlos Polakis, however, did not vote for it.

It was the first – serious – breach in Polakis’ relations with him Kasselakis. Polakis was demoted in the party hierarchy and ceased to be considered the “right hand” of the president.

The second episode was a few days ago with the sexist comments of the SYRIZA MP against the ND secretary. Maria Syregela. Despite the fact that New Democracy demanded the removal of Polakis from the party, Stefanos Kasselakis did not succumb to the pressure, tacitly supporting his deputy.

Today’s verbal attack on his colleague Adonis Georgiadis was… the third and most dangerous. Stefanos Kasselakis was informed about the episode shortly before the start of the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group. In particular, in his post on Twitter, the Minister of Health states: “at the meeting of the Social Affairs Committee of the Parliament, which was interrupted since yesterday, in my absence, Pavlos Polakis attacked my legal advisor Ms. Natassa Petroulia with incredible verbal violence. Ms. Petroulia was there at work, as her job is to prepare the legal improvements that we want or not to approve during the Committee meeting. So during her work, the SYRIZA MP attacked her because he said: “he doesn’t like her face, etc.” The committee did not speak to Mr. Polakis at all. His attack on a defenseless working woman was so brutal that his colleagues Mr. Bibilas from Pleusi Eleftherias, Mr. Panagiotopoulos and Ms. Athina Linou from SYRIZA immediately condemned the incident. , as of course the President of the Commission.

“Mr. Polakis has lost all decency”

Unrepentant despite the general outcry

Pavlos Polakis does not regret the verbal attack on his colleague Adoni Georgiadis and even goes on the counterattack, saying that Natasha Petroulia was “shaking her head in a derogatory way”, while also attacking Athina Linou.

In his statements after the verbal attack and his removal from the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group, the MP remains unrepentant, even calling on Mrs Linou to “apologise for her and not for me”.

“I take responsibility for my actions,” said Mr. Polakis, saying that “a lady, an associate of Mr. Georgiadis, the whole time I was highlighting the scandal of 1,750,000 euros instead of 300,000 euros, shook her head disparagingly . It was an understatement. I told her not to turn her face.”
