Today, Wednesday, the Joint Ministerial Decisions are issued, so that the Official Gazette can be issued to define the beneficiaries
The support of the state to our fire-stricken fellow citizens from the catastrophic fire which consumed her Northeast Atticamonopolized the subject of the emergency meeting convened on Tuesday afternoon by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
As informed by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Christos Triandopoulosspeaking to the state aid has already been activated, with the main strands being divided into 3 pieces.
The first concerns the buildings, where 20 levels of the General Directorate for the Rehabilitation of the Effects of Natural Disasters (GDAEFK) are already in the field and they identify the damage to houses and household structures to help the work of the Municipalities where necessary.
“At the same time, since yesterday, the state aid concerning businesses has also been activated, where the arm of the aid will be the aid committees”, as Mr. Triandopoulos stated, adding:
“The homes and businesses will be less than 100, while less than 10% of the burned area is forested, as it was mostly low vegetation. Of course, the final measurements from the EU’s Copernicus system will show the extent of the destruction, with the responsible minister Mr. Kikilia reporting on Tuesday to SKAI about 80,000 acres that were burned.”
In addition, he emphasized that by August 21 the platform for the support measures for those affected by the fire in Attica will be open, while “today the Joint Ministerial Decisions are issued to issue the Official Gazette to define the beneficiaries because the platform exists, simply every once the beneficiaries must be defined”.
“If we manage to open it even a day earlier, it will be a dream come true” added Mr. Triandopoulos
