SYRIZA turned upside down once again. THE Stefanos Kasselakis he expected the “mutiny” from elsewhere – that is, from the “87” – and it came to him from elsewhere. At yesterday’s meeting of the Political Secretariat his “bomb”. Pavlos Polakis completely shook Koumoundourou. He stated that the current leadership cannot ensure the creation of a popularly understandable and socially necessary program.

“Big changes are needed and soon and as far as I’m concerned I’ll do my best for it” he said causing embarrassment. He is said to have even mentioned that “we cannot proceed with a serious claim for a major governmental change. We produce a lot more parapolitical material than political line.”

Will the MP from Chania really take the next step by essentially blowing up the constitutional conference and turning the Central Committee’s first weekend of September into a “game” of balances and confrontation of internal party forces?

Pavlos Polakis is putting a lot of pressure on Stefanos Kasselakis with his alleged candidacy for the presidency and the occasion is the case of Athena Linou. According to many executives, he was more disturbed by the fact that he felt that the president of SYRIZA did not support him from the beginning and with determination in the data he made public about financial irregularities of the Institute of the professor of epidemiology rather than his expulsion from the parliamentary group.

Throughout the last period, however, with his intense opposition activity, according to many, he was building a leader’s profile. And in his way he had hinted that he had begun to look “higher”. Therefore, the well-prepared and those who know how to “read the signs” were not taken by surprise. Unless all that is happening is a strong pressure towards the leadership in order to “restore” his name and therefore to upgrade his role in the party even more.

It seems that Stefanos Kasselakis does not want a conflict with the former Deputy Minister of Health. In general, he has recently tried not to open fronts and a characteristic move was the transfer of the meeting of the Ethics Committee for Christos Spirtzis almost two weeks later.

In his post yesterday evening, he essentially took Pavlos Polakis out of the frame and focused all his attention and his fierce criticism on “87”. However, the front he has to face is twofold and that does not change. On the one hand, the former “general” of last year’s victory, and on the other, the internal party opposition, which finds an opportunity in this confusion to rally.

In this environment, Stefanos Kasselakis does not see the time to hold the statutory conference of SYRIZA and to proceed with the necessary changes and therefore to replace persons from the organs that are now causing him successive “headaches”.

It is clear that the “87” will not sit idly by in the near future. The conflict for both the media and the seat of Othon Iliopoulos it will be fierce. In the text they submitted, they stated: “The resignation of comrade and distinguished scientist Othon Iliopoulos, was for reasons unrelated to his non-institutional reference, that he is resigning to hand over to a person of his choice, even if this is the person of the President. SYRIZA-PS is an institutional party and cannot operate outside of what the Constitution, the Parliament’s regulations and our statutes stipulate, leaving members of the state ballot to be slandered and targeted.”

Apart from the “fiery” post of Stefanos Kasselakis against his internal party opposition, the Political Secretariat, which continued to meet after the departure of the “eight”, issued a statement in which it stated:

“At these critical moments, the strengthening of SYRIZA-PS, inside and outside the parliament, is necessary and necessary more than ever, in order to pave the way as soon as possible for the overthrow of the Mitsotakis government, and for the great progressive change that the country needs . It goes without saying that the presence of the president of the party in the Greek parliament will strengthen the voice of SYRIZA-PS and will contribute decisively to the great, oppositional effort of the party”.

Late night springs near the “87” responded to Kasselaki’s post: “We leave the insults of Stefanos Kasselakis to the judgment of the members and friends of SYRIZA – PS, the entire progressive world of the country and the Greek people.

After all, we are unable to follow the confusion he is in, since once again he raised the issue of leadership by himself, through evening posts, while a few hours earlier, at the PG meeting, when everything was said and done, he declared that he is not picking up the gauntlet.

Constantly induced introversion and inadequacy have already shown their results.

Beyond that, we are satisfied with the fact that under the pressure of our own stance today, as much as it upset Stefanos Kasselakis, the party’s media workers were only informed today that tomorrow they will finally be paid.”
