The measures are expected to be locked in the next 10 days
Feverish are the preparations of the government staff for the announcements that the Prime Minister will make from the podium of the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki, on the first weekend of September.
According to the report of Yannis Kantelis in the SKAI news bulletin, government officials are keeping a low profile regarding the announcements that will be made at the TIF.
However, there is the first information, according to which the government will announce measures to support the family. What is expected is an increase in child and housing benefit.
The minimum guaranteed income is also expected to increase, while on the “table” there is planning for the restructuring of the method of payment unemployment benefit. The largest amount will be paid in the first months while as time passes the benefit will decrease as an incentive to return to the labor market.
For housing, it is planned to increase the amount given to beneficiaries in the “renovate – rent” program.
It is reportedly being considered to give more money to someone who renovates a closed apartment to put it back on the market for rent, while there will be disincentives for Airbnb through taxation. That is, it will decrease through the long-term lease and increase for the short-term leases.
At the same time, the government is focusing on a new “Shelter 2” program which will include more beneficiaries based on age and income criteria.
At the same time, measures for hyper-tourism are also being considered, such as introducing a tax on cruises.
Finally, the government plans to increase pensions by 2 to 2.5% and reduce employer insurance contributions by 0.5%
