For “the most important program to upgrade the building facilities of hundreds of schools in the last decades”, the Minister of Education, Religion and Sports, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, spoke in a post on social media, after the announcements of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the TIF, regarding with the “Marietta Giannakou” program for the upgrading and renovation of schools, with an initial amount of 250 million euros.

“Our goal is to increase the amount significantly with the contribution of the private sector. Our children deserve schools with a pleasant environment and suitable facilities for learning and sports, in which they will receive the supplies to carve out their own tomorrow“, said the minister.

As he noted, “the integration of technology in schools requires safe and modern classrooms.”

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced at the TIF a program for upgrading and renovating schools, with an initial amount of 250 million euros. The program is called “Marietta Giannakou” in honor of the late iconic politician who wrote her own history in Education.
