The president of the official opposition parliamentary group is trying to restart the opposition mechanism of SYRIZA
By Yannis Anifantis
Nikos Pappas is trying to relaunch the opposition mechanism of SYRIZA, with the president of the official opposition parliamentary group submitting a topical question to Kyriakos Mitsotakis about the purchasing power of the Greeks.
In an attempt to turn the spotlight on the everyday problems of the citizens, Nikos Pappas asks the Prime Minister questions about “what measures he intends to take in order to strengthen the purchasing power of the citizens, to control speculative phenomena and prices in basic goods and services and to support households and small and medium-sized enterprises’.
In his statement on the floor of the Parliament, Mr. Pappas accused the government that “with the policy of the New Democracy, the Greek workers came to be the last in terms of purchasing power in all of Europe”. At the same time, he invited the prime minister to come to the Parliament, to “reveal to us his intentions” and wondered if “he will continue to use precision to collect the surplus profit and surpluses in the coffers of the state?”.
With reference to internal party matters, Mr. Pappas avoided giving any answer.
The entire statement of Nikos Pappas
With the policy of the New Democracy, Greek workers came to be the last in purchasing power in all of Europe.
We therefore submit a Topical Question to the Prime Minister, Mr. Mitsotakis and invite him to come to the Parliament.
Will it support household purchasing power?
Will it actually do anything to control prices and profiteering?
Will it support small and medium-sized enterprises?
Let him come to Parliament to reveal his intentions to us.
Will it continue to instrumentalize precision to collect excess profit and surpluses in state coffers?
