The opinion that Stefanos Kasselakis “is not certain that he will come down” was expressed by Sokratis Famellos in an interview with ERT.

“It hints at the risk of Congress barring candidates, which has never been discussed. It is a concern that is created without reason”, he noted, stressing that “none of us is questioning neither the signatures nor the Pothen Esches”.

S. Famellos stated that, as St. Kasselakis, is willing to make “a self-criticism about the mistakes that were made and led to the shrinking and discrediting of SYRIZA”.

“My candidacy is based on regaining the trust and seriousness of SYRIZA. What we are discussing now is not serious. I feel that the former president does not want this SYRIZA”, S. Famellos underlined.

“With the documents that exist and not with suspicions, there were two discussions about changing the name. There has been an attempt to change the charter and there has been a fragmented debate with conflicting characteristics to change directions. But the 150,000 members came and voted to make this SYRIZA better, not for another party,” he added.

Regarding the New Left, he commented: “It was a mistake to leave SYRIZA, they removed pluralism, democracy, to have many opinions and possibly against the majority opinion to have a composition.” “However, they also violated the Code of Ethics, with the issue of seats. But it is another party. My proposal is addressed to those who feel SYRIZA at home. However, we have already said that about PASOK, there is a matter of political and social collaborations and alliances. We cannot forget the past, which happened and hurt us, but there is scope”, he added, while for the former president of the party, Alexis Tsipras, he said that “he is a great political capital for the country” and “what he has left is a legacy the government”.

Commenting on the PASOK elections, he noted that “they concern society and since they concern society, they also concern us”.

“It is a party in which we, since the decision of the Central Committee that I mentioned in July, have already proposed to have some collaborations. As president of the KO I had an open channel of communication. I have a different opinion from PASOK in politics. If I had the same, I would be in PASOK”, he said.
