The general secretary of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas was in Ioannina at the Panepirot meeting of unions, organizations and trade unionists
A call for the formation of a pan-Hellenic movement, which will understand the need to clash, “with the economy and society of capital, to end the state of the capitalists”, addressed the Central Committee of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoubasduring his speech at the Panepirotian meeting of unions, organizations and trade unionists, in Ioannina.
The general secretary of the KE of the KKE emphasized that “we are entering the fight to improve, as much as possible today, our lives, and at the same time we are preparing and preparing for the great conflicts that lie ahead of us, until the final reversal of this injustice”.
At the same time, he noted that there are no easy solutions, “within this rotten and corrupt system, that’s why we have one choice, to collide with the economy and society of capital” and asked to leave NATO and the EU, but also socialization of the means that produce the wealth in our country and continued: “Within the places of work, in the neighborhoods, in the schools and colleges, to block their plans, to have certain conquests. We have assumed this responsibility as a party, the responsibility to take this fight to the end! And we will succeed!”
The general secretary spoke about anti-popular policies that all governments implement successively and described the one by the ND government as more intense, “with the backs of course of the other parties, SYRIZA and PASOK. That’s why we stress that “from above”, from the rulers and from their supposedly convenient opposition, we cannot expect anything”.
Dimitris Koutsoubas criticized the government’s economic policy and spoke of “bloody” primary surpluses, unbearable taxes that erode people’s incomes, frozen wages and pensions so that large business groups can continue to increase their profits and poverty deepens for the people and in the coming years and emphasized: “Let Mr. Mitsotakis stop talking about “relief measures for ordinary households”.
Among other things, he pointed out that “the new Minister of Labor, who wants to enrich her anti-labor resume, is preparing to bring a bill on the minimum wage and Collective Labor Agreements, which will not only cancel the role of unions, but will legislate a permanent cutter for workers’ wages” and continued:
“There is no money for salaries, for education, for health, for the needs of the people, but they do have money to send frigates to the Red Sea, which costs the people 500 million euros per day. They don’t have money to support the people’s income, but they do have money for the oversized equipment! In order to support Greece’s deeper participation in the two imperialist wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, on behalf of the ruling class, which also wants a piece of the share, they have and are providing!
And when we talk about the war in the Middle East, we are talking about the blunder put in place by the killer state of Israel, which, with the support of its Euro-Atlantic allies, is slaughtering the people of Palestine and Lebanon. This massacre is supported by the Greek government, at the same time making our country, our people the target of reprisals!”
Mr. Koutsoubas described the meetings with trade unionists, unions, associations and agencies as very important, because as he said, they are the ones who know firsthand what the situation and problems are in every area, in every branch. “The most important thing is that you don’t settle for them, you come forward, you claim solutions. So do we.
From this point of view, we can say that we are on the same side: “with the right of the many, against the sacrifices for the profits of the few”, as the motto of today’s meeting says, he said.
