In today meeting of Political Center of SYRIZA PSThe Alexis Tsipras, assessed that the country under Mitsotaki responsibility has remained completely un fortified in the face of the impending escalation of the energy crisis, a fact that can have, as he said, very serious consequences for social cohesion and the functioning of the economy. Finally, he assessed that with these data the possibility of elections is extremely probable and asked for the electoral readiness of the party.
“Mitsotaki’s responsibility is dramatic. He deconstructed the country’s energy strategy and brought in frightening accuracy long before war broke out. Work for funds and energy cartels and not for consumers. I am afraid that there is a risk not only of an increase in energy poverty but also of a return to a humanitarian crisis.
With these data, it is not excluded that Mr. Mitsotakis chooses to escape immediately. “We have to be ready for elections very soon and even more ready to take on the responsibility of bringing society and the economy out of a crisis that a right-wing government is inheriting.”
Earlier, Mr. Tsipras in an on camera statement stressed that “the disastrous choices of the Mitsotakis government in energy, have left society, the economy and citizens a victim of the crisis.”
“Today, when even the Commission urges the member states to put pricing, even to nationalize infrastructure if necessary, Mr. Mitsotakis pretends to be the unknown, supposedly sends letters and promises new support measures”, notes Alexis Tsipras and underlines that ” measures are needed immediately and effectively to stop the accuracy: ceiling on electricity and gas prices, immediate reduction of VAT on fuel, immediate reduction of VAT on basic food products, increase of the minimum wage to 800 euros “.
“Mr. Mitsotakis, instead of pretending to be the prime minister of limited liability, the prime minister of excuse, it is better to launch the procedures for appealing to the people’s verdict, so that the country acquires a government of responsibility, so that the current crisis does not turn into a humanitarian tragedy.” Alexis Tsipras.
The statement in detail:
“The disastrous choices of the Mitsotakis government in energy have left society, the economy and the citizens in the grip of the crisis.
Violent de-ligation, the privatization of PPC and electricity networks, the seizure of the electricity mix in imported gas, deconstructed the country’s energy strategy and brought businesses and households to a standstill long before the war broke out.
The absence of market controls, the tolerance of harmonized practices and the scandal of the power companies, the persistent refusal of pricing in the increases, were aimed only at serving specific interests to the detriment of the economy and society.
Today, when even the Commission urges the member states to put pricing, even to nationalize infrastructure if necessary, Mr. Mitsotakis pretends to be the unknown, supposedly sends letters and promises new support measures.
I wonder if he has even understood the consequences of his criminal choices.
If he has realized what a tragic impasse he has already brought to Greek society.
The country needs an immediate redesign of the National Energy Strategy.
With time shift of de-lignification and resumption of activity in the lignite fields.
By restoring the public and public benefit character of PPC.
With the cancellation of the process of dissolution and sale of LARCO, which in the current conditions of rising nickel prices, becomes again of strategic importance.
And immediate and effective measures are needed to stop the accuracy:
– Ceiling in electricity and gas prices in household and business accounts.
-Immediate reduction of VAT on fuel.
-Immediate reduction of VAT on basic food products.
-And increase of the minimum wage to 800 euros.
“Mr. Mitsotakis, instead of pretending to be the prime minister of limited liability, the prime minister of excuse, it is better to launch the procedures for appealing to the verdict of the people, so that the country acquires a government of responsibility, so that the current crisis does not turn into a humanitarian tragedy.”
