“The government’s goal is to create even more and better-paid jobs. In the last 5 years, more than 500,000 new jobs were created, while unemployment is now at its lowest level in 15 years, i.e. at 9.4%”, pointed out the deputy minister to the prime minister and government representative Pavlos Marinakis during the briefing of the political editors, and reiterated that the government’s goal is to increase the minimum wage to 950 euros by the end of 4 years, adding that it will now be prohibited by law to reduce it.

“Essentially, we are legislating the ban on lowering the minimum wage. Unlike all the opposition parties that have governed in recent years, New Democracy only increases incomes. PASOK’s “no” to the government’s initiatives is a “no” to the Greek people, the Greek citizens”, stressed Mr. Marinakis.

“Maybe for Mr. Rama there is no Northern Continent, but it goes without saying that there is the ethnic minority living in Albania and its rights. Respecting them is an explicit condition of the accession process in the European Union. Albania’s road to Europe passes through Athens, Greece. The condition that no one can bypass is the following: The respect of the Greek minority in Albania”, he pointed out regarding the “inflammatory” statement of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in his speech in Thessaloniki yesterday.

Regarding the upcoming American elections, he emphasized that “the prime minister maintains very good relations with important persons from both parties. Greece will respect the verdict of the American citizens and cooperate with the next President of the United States.”
