The first organized parliamentary initiative was initiated by the 4 MPs who resigned from the SYRIZA K.O. and are close to Stefanos Kasselakis.

The four independent MPs Kyriaki Malama, Petros Pappas, Rallia Christidou and Alexandros Avlonitis filed a joint report to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, alleging the embezzlement of public money surrounding the issue of the Thessaloniki Metro logo.

This move, although there is not yet the required number to form a new parliamentary group, shows that there is a central coordination, pending further independences.

The entire announcement of the MPs

“Malama – Christidou – Avlonitis – Pappas: Evidence of scandal in the process for the Thessaloniki Metro logo.

The four independent MPs Kyriaki Malama, Rallia Christidou, Alexandros Avlonitis and Petros Pappas are making a parliamentary report to the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, in relation to the issue that has arisen with the logo of the Thessaloniki Metro. The independent MPs proceed to file as a reference the public letter of the Thessaloniki Architects’ Association dated November 14, 2024, which points out very serious indications of the embezzlement of public money in the process of assigning the project of creating the logo of the Thessaloniki Metro. As pointed out in the letter, while the scientific body in question was informing its members about an open tender on the subject, the Hellenic Metro Company was canceling the tender, preparing another more costly one, which it also canceled in order to proceed with a direct award of the work of creating the logo.

Since it is unacceptable for Hellenic Metro to proceed with such procedures, especially at a time when the logo of the Thessaloniki Metro is disappointing in terms of its aesthetic originality, please proceed with all the immediate actions required to improve the logo of the Thessaloniki Metro and protect it the public money”.
