“Even the government’s mockery of society must have a limit,” concludes the SYRIZA-PS announcement.
“Government representative Mr. P. Marinakis, speaking today on a television station, approached the new increase in the wholesale price of electricity with hints of consumer support, with “if and if” and with references to how much lower the increases are compared to other countries”, underlines SYRIZA-PS in a statement.
“We inform the government of Mr. Mitsotakis, in case it has not understood, that the very specific problem of accuracy of the inhabitants of our own country, which concerns, among others, food, basic goods, rents, health, education and energy , is not treated with comparative tables, excuses and half-arguments”, he notes and continues:
“Citizens are not looking for consolation, they are demanding solutions. Solution is not a possibility of subsidy, which last time gave support up to… 8 euros per account. The solution is not the policy of state welfare, which exists, “if and only”, only to leave energy profiteering unarmed and to not take radical measures. The solution is not for the government to denounce distortions in the electricity market with letters to the EU, but to leave untouched the Greek energy exchange, which itself has defined the terms of its operation. The solution is not to leave energy companies free to set prices as they see fit.”
“Even the government’s mockery of society must have a limit,” concludes the SYRIZA-PS announcement.
