With one sentence, the candidate for the president of SYRIZA Apostolos Gletsos managed to be the subject of yesterday’s commentary debate of SYRIZA. Arguing that the wind turbines do not produce electricity, because Mitsotakis did not put… batteries, he managed to provoke various reactions both in the public and in social media, while smiling Pavlos Polakis tried to put it together, saying “it is not stored, no it is not current is generated.
“We have 5,000 throughout Greece, filming, 15 billion. and electricity do you know how much they produce? Zero, because no batteries have been inserted and Mr. Mitsotakis tells us they need 25,000, they haven’t put batteries anywhere.” In fact, Mr. Gletsos argued that wind turbines do not enter the energy mix, they only enter “through the windows”, he said, meaning photovoltaics.
In an attempt to fold, Mr. Gletsos hastened on Thursday morning to clarify that his specific remark about the wind turbines was “a result of stress, mainly about time”. This was also why, he said, he confused the word “production” with the word “storage” because of the pressure of time and track.
Chaos on social media for Gletsou’s remark
Of course, Apostolos Gletsou’s comment about the wind turbines did not pass without comment from social media as there were many comments mainly on X (formerly Twitter).
