The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have a series of telephone contacts with the political leaders, in order to inform them about the results of the during his visit to Turkey.
Following a communication between the Secretary General of the Prime Minister, Grigoris Dimitriadis, and the offices of the political leaders, the following communications were scheduled:
At 18.00the Prime Minister will have a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Coalition of the Radical Left and leader of the official opposition, Alexis Tsipras.
At 19.00Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have a telephone conversation with the President of the Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis.
At 10.00, Tuesday morningthe Prime Minister will have a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Greece, Dimitris Koutsoumbas.
At 10.30the Prime Minister will have a telephone conversation with the President of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos.
At 11.30Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have a telephone communication with the Secretary of MERA25, Yanis Varoufakis.
Referring to yesterday’s meeting, the government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomoudescribed it as “a foundation for the improvement of the climate between Greece and Turkey”.
The discussion, he added, lasted more than two hours and was in a very good atmosphere.
The two leaders reiterated their firm positions, without the sharpness of the previous period, Mr. Oikonomou noted and added:
“The meeting is a foundation for improving the climate, something that remains to be seen in the near future. “It was realized that it is in the interest of both countries to drop the tone, as with the new landscape that is being formed it is in the interest of both sides to have stability in the southeastern Mediterranean.”
He added that it was an opportunity for an open and honest discussion. The two leaders discussed the need for co-operation in opening humanitarian corridors in Ukraine.
It was also agreed to hold the 5th Supreme Cooperation Council in Thessaloniki in the autumn and the meeting on Confidence Building Measures in Ankara next month. “We will come back more specifically when we approach this meeting in time,” he said.
