Taking advantage of the festive atmosphere, the Prime Minister invited the MPs to have a relaxed discussion and to strengthen relations within the KO
The Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, had a meeting with the “blue” MPs today at Megaro Maximos, two days after the budget was passed and just before the holidays.
Taking advantage of the festive atmosphere, Kyriakos Mitsotakis invited the MPs today in order to have a relaxed discussion on current affairs but also to strengthen relations within the KO. The atmosphere was particularly warm, with the MPs posing smiling for a selfie while there were also various foods as well as Cretan raki and other drinks.
Among the topics they discussed were the budget, the measures for the banks as well as the surprise measures for low pensioners and uniformed workers, as well as international developments with an emphasis on the Syrian issue and the Prime Minister’s trip to Lebanon.
Immediately after the mini-lunch was over, some MPs commented on today’s meeting.
“It has never been organized like this before, it also honors the president. In addition to wishes, there was also a small review of the Prime Minister’s speech on Sunday. It was shocking, 25 breaks for applause has never happened to a leader since I have been an MP in 74. And 4 standing. We didn’t talk about the President of the Republic” said Yannis Tragakis.
“We congratulated him on his speech and what he said about the banks and the uniformed. He will take care of everything wisely. There is always a first time” said from his side Dionysis Hatzidakis.
“The atmosphere was festive. The year ends creatively. We also discussed international developments. We talked about his trip to Lebanon. Greece is of great interest especially for Christians. We have exhausted all scope for benefits. Let the economy do well, let’s support the world,” said Mr Dimitris Kairides adding that the meal included wine, Cretan tsikoudia and a modest buffet.
