“In the center the voters count for two…”
By Despina Vlepakis
Many interpret his “recommendations” as “pointing shots”. Nikos Androulakis to his deputies, when the doors of room 111 in the Parliament were closed and the meeting of the PASOK parliamentary group began.
The president of PASOK is reported to have said to the 31 members of the parliamentary group “Not to engage in conversations that cloud the message” which the official opposition party broadcasts to society.
“We must serve with our public appearances to maximize credibility” underlined, according to information, the president who called on his deputies to be in combat positions, “read” on all issues and if a mistake is made to correct it immediately.
However, the information states that there was no tension in the recording of a different point of view in the meeting after the fire ignited by executives’ statements about possible post-election collaborations in the last few days. In fact, the information states that the president has accepted suggestions for disciplinary measures against executives who appear out of line, however it seems that the prevailing opinion is to give time before “tightening the belts”.
The gaze is directed to the Center
Nikos Androulakis developed the strategy and pointed out to his MPs that the pool they should mainly target is the voters of the Center.
“In the center, voters count for two: why they leave New Democracy and come to us” the President is reported to have noted addressing his deputies.
In favor of Kaklamanis
The meeting lasted less than an hour with Nikos Androulakis recommending his approval Nikita Kaklamanis to the Presidency of the Parliament and the deputies to agree.
“PASOK will not follow New Democracy in violating institutional traditions. I recommend that we vote for Nikitas Kaklamanis for Speaker of the Parliament, highlighting the different treatment of institutions by PASOK” said Nikos Androulakis who made sure to remind his MPs that the Prime Minister did not respect the spirit of the law in the case of selecting a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
“Mr. Mitsotakis broke a 30-year-old political tradition and his handling of the issue of the Presidency of the Republic is not consistent with the spirit of the Constitution which mandates broad consensus” noted.
Parliamentary initiatives and outreach business
Nikos Androulakis pointed out to his MPs that PASOK’s legislative initiatives, such as for banks and insurance premiums, build the credibility of the alternative governance proposal.
His staff is gearing up for the brawl in Parliament on Friday with the Prime Minister on agricultural issues.
However, the President instructed the financial staff of PASOK to prepare proposals for a meeting that will take place on Thursday, in which the movement’s proposal for Swiss franc borrowers will be discussed again, as well as other initiatives prepared by the main opposition. A similar meeting will be held on Friday on the sidelines of the debate in the Parliament with the respective department heads of the Parliament for next parliamentary steps.
In the context of extroversion, a tour of the president is being prepared in the region with a possible trip to Nemea on Sunday.
