The only solution to ending the war in Ukraine is the foundation of a generally accepted, fair and enduring peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on the occasion of the three years after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister adds that Greece has been supporting international law over time and condemns the use of force against sovereign states.

The Foreign Ministry’s announcement:

“In today’s three -year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we stand with sadness and respect for the thousands of our fellow humans who have lost their lives and awe before the untold catastrophes that have taken place.

Our thinking also goes to our thousands of expatriates in Mariupol and to the surrounding areas, who experienced the horror of war and continue to experience its consequences.

Greece over time and as a matter of principle supports the commitment to international law and the United Nations Charter and condemns all use of violence, as well as the threat of violence against sovereign states.
