Following a marathon meeting that lasted 18 hours, the Plenary of the House decided with 154 positive votes to approval the New Democracy’s proposal for the establishment of a pre -trial committee for Kostas Karamanlis in order to investigate the offense of breach of duty.
Given that two independent MPs – Dimitris Kyriazidis and Charalambos Katsivardas – had expressed the position that they would vote in favor of the ND proposal, it is estimated that two ruling MPs, either by mistake or consciously, were differentiated.
PASOK’s proposal (on the offense of a fixed track disturbance) is voted by 47 MPs, while the proposal of the 4 parties (based on the indictment of the victims’ relatives) voted 40.
Concerning the proposal of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, 159 MPs voted against her, 38 voted in favor, while in the ballot there were 3 invalid and 1 white.
A total of 236 MPs came to the vote, while 61 MPs were absent. The 58 comes from the parliamentary groups of SYRIZA (26), the KKE (21) and the New Left (11) while the additional 3 are: Former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, the MP of Freedom Freedom Diamantis Karanastasis and the Independent MP.
The pre -trial committee will have two months in order to complete its meetings and will consist of a total of 26 members.
The ‘episodic’ finale
The last page of the marathon discussion was written in high tones by the Minister of Justice and the President of Freedom Failure. George Floridis launched a severe attack on Zoe Konstantopoulou, referring to the story of the rapist who crushed his victims with cheese pie. “We heard Mrs. Constantopoulou tell us: What color does justice have, what taste, how does it smell? Let’s see it. Listen to some names. If Alan from Australia. M. site and two more. They had visited Greece. Unknown to each other. And they were raped by some Greek here. After they were previously nodded. This rapist (…) was defended by Ms Zoe Konstantopoulou, torturing the women victims of the rapist who came from foreign countries and constantly saw the case take postponement. “The Minister emphasized from the step, provoking the intense applause of the majority of the majority and Mrs Konstantopoulou from the Freedom Suns of Freedom to shout: “Lies.” ‘No lies’Mr. Floridis replied, adding: “The rapist was eventually punished with 12 years in prison. But Mrs Konstantopoulou did not forget the good of the rapist customer. Three months after SYRIZA was taken into account, came Paraskevopoulos’s famous law to release all the major criminals in the country. SYRIZA did two things in the first eight months. He released all the heavy crime of the country and closed the banks. It rarely can take the Speaker of the House of Representatives in a bill. But Mrs. Constantopoulou took him. And he said he felt relief. I imagine what relief the killers, rapists and drug dealers felt. “
“What you say is a scam, a lie, a hypocrisy. You feel nothing about the victims of the Tempi, about relatives. A wildly wide exploitation of this national tragedy you want through lies’, Mr. Floridis underlined.
The confrontation at the top level
At a very high “decibel” was the Prime Minister’s response to the opposition, putting the four leaders of the 4 parties (Greek solution, victory, Freedom Movement, the Democracy Movement), who proposed to investigate themselves and the ND ministers, “I consider this particular proposal to divert parliamentarianism and the infringement of the democratic order itself and that is why I refuse to discuss its content. I’m not going to make my interlocutor any slanderer »Kyriakos Mitsotakis pointed out by characterizing them ‘Cooperative of toxicity’. Indeed, the prime minister made it clear that he had given the present at the special meeting to honor the victims of the Tempi, insisting that only independent justice would bring about purification.
In the prime minister’s assurances that the ND proposal will not leave any shadow, they responded to harsh tones of Nikos Androulakis and Socrates Famellos, attributing a new attempt to conceal to the ruling. “We watched another performance entitled Mitsotakis in an attempt to make the victim appeared as a victim. In front of a national tragedy, chooses not to be accountable ‘, Mr. Androulakis commented on characterizing them “Blue” MPs washing machine for the complexity and responsibilities of the ND. “The Mitsotakis regime is doing what it can to bother the truth,” Socrates Famellos complained, leaving clear points to his former comrades (Democracy movement) for their attitude to sign a common proposal with Greek solution and victory. “We did not identify with nihilistic far -right voices trying to take advantage of the tragedy”commented.
KARAMANLIS: I put myself in the judgment of justice
The eyes, however, were focused on the position of former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Costas Karamanlis, with himself calling on government majority MPs to vote in favor of the ND proposal. “As a minister I did not deaf, as they accuse me. I did not indifferent to calls and letters for the years of OSE and Railway. I have tried, with my partners, to deal with the consequences of abandoning the railway for over 10 years. “He stressed and emphasized that after the letters he had received from ministry officials on underfunding and under -staffing issues, he reinforced OSE with 417 jobs and nearly 400 million euros.
“I’m not going to hide behind any immunity or government majority. I know I am innocent and look forward to the judgment of justice to learn all of Greece. Fifty -seven lives were lost in Tempi. That night marked hundreds of other people forever. Among them and me »he added.
